Dans le cadre de ses études, elle est envoyée sur une île artificielle pour s'occuper de Masamishi Haru, un ancien scientifique resté dans le coma pendant 50 ans suite à un accident de plongée. Elle remplace temporairement Holon, l'assistante cybernétique du vieil homme. <br /> Souta, quant à lui, est l'adjoint du Pr. Eiichiro Kushima qui menait avec Mr. Haru des recherches sur le bio-rythme de la Terre grâce au MetalReal, un nouveau réseau de communication dont il est aujourd'hui le responsable. <br /> Bien qu'ayant été amélioré et perfectionné, ce réseau (aussi appelé Metal) où converge la mémoire et la conscience humaine transformées sous forme de données, reste l'objet d'attaques extérieures non identifiées.
